Mandeville City Council Government is vested in a council consisting of five (5) members elected for four-year terms, of which two (2) are elected at large and three (3) from single member districts. Additional information on the city council can be found in the city charter.

The city council meets on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month at 6 p.m. at City Hall, 3101 East Causeway Approach. (Note: Due to holiday schedules, the council meets only once in November and December.) Agendas are published on the city website on the Friday preceding the scheduled meeting.  Meetings are open to the public and are live streamed on the city Facebook page for your convenience.

A longtime resident of Mandeville, Scott grew up on both the North and South shores of Lake Pontchartrain.  Scott has first-hand knowledge of our undeniable quality of life. Scott has both the passion and vision for protecting Mandeville’s character while making life even better for it’s residents. Scott attended LSU and graduated from Loyola University in New Orleans in 1985 with a BBS in Marketing Business. He earned his Law Degree from Mississippi College School of Law in 1988. He is a member of both Louisiana and Mississippi State Bars. Scott is an attorney with the Discon Law Firm for over 35 years in Mandeville, LA and practices personal injury law in both Louisiana and Mississippi statewide. Scott is also a licensed Real Estate Agent with Berkshire Hathaway Home Services in Mandeville, LA. Scott is currently the Vice-President of the Northshore Humane Society, Past Board Member of The Pontchartrain Yacht Club, 2012–2016, Founding Member of The City Park Mow Ron’s, LLC, 2006 -2010, Founding Board Member of City Bark Dog Park, New Orleans, Board of Directors 2006 to 2020 and the former Chairman of The Mandeville Parks & Parkways Commission, 2016 to 2024. Scott and his partner, Scott Williams live in a restored 1930’s Bungalow in Old Mandeville with their four dogs, Izzy, Rivers, Finnigan and Ford. When not volunteering or working Scott can be found on the yoga mat, gardening, traveling or running with his dogs on the Historic Mandeville Lakefront.

Jason Zuckerman is a licensed architect in the State of Louisiana, having earned his Master of Architecture from Tulane University. He has been involved in the design and construction industry for over 30 years and lived in and around the City of Mandeville since graduating from Tulane in 1993. Jason is Vice President at The McDonnel Group, a regional general contractor specializing in ground up construction as well as renovations including design-build, specializing in educational, institutional, hospitality, healthcare, and industrial markets. He has been with the firm since its inception twenty-five years ago. Jason also practices Architecture in the Mandeville area and served on the City of Mandeville's Historic Preservation District Commission for several years prior to being elected to the City Council in addition to volunteering his time to Mandeville's Design Review Committee. Jason has been an active member to the American Institute of Architects since 1996, the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) since 1993, and earned his LEED AP credentials from the Green Building Certification Institute in 2009. Jason has three children Curtis, Danny, and Sarah and is very excited to have an opportunity to help in planning for Mandeville's future while protecting and preserving its past and everything we all love about our great city.

Cynthia Strong-Thompson, a dedicated resident of Mandeville since 2001, brings her passion for community service and civic engagement to her role as Councilwoman for District One. A graduate of Rhodes College, Cynthia's liberal arts education provides a strong foundation for her work. Cynthia is actively involved in various community organizations. She currently serves on the board of the Youth Service Bureau and has held leadership roles, including State President of the Business and Professional Women’s state board of a national organization as well as Board Chair of the St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce in 2017. Her work in these organizations has focused on youth advocacy, professional development, and economic growth. As a seasoned financial advisor, Cynthia offers a unique perspective on strategic planning and informed financial based decision-making. Her holistic approach to financial and community planning makes her a valuable asset to the City of Mandeville. Cynthia looks forward to continuing her service, contributing to the betterment of Mandeville and its residents. In her personal time, she enjoys exploring local restaurants, drawing and enjoying art shows and can sometimes be found elbow deep in oil working on an antique truck and not so antique motorcycle, further enriching her connection to this vibrant community she calls home.

Kevin Vogeltanz proudly serves as councilman for Mandeville's District 2.  He's a Louisiana attorney who's board certified in employment law by the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization. He and his family have lived in the Old Golden Shores neighborhood since 2015. Kevin is committed to ensuring Mandeville is and remains the best residential, lakefront community in all of Louisiana.

Having grown up in the Mandeville area, Jill is proud to raise her two sons ( ages 20 and 15) in Old Mandeville. Jill looks forward to serving her second term as Councilwoman, District III for the City of Mandeville.  Before serving on the City Council, Jill proudly served the Mandeville community as a member of the Historic District Preservation Commissioner for the City of Mandeville.  While serving as Woodlake PTA president, Jill received the honor of District PTA President of the Year in 2019.   Jill is also a Leadership St. Tammany alum.  Jill recently entered an exciting new chapter of revitalizing a historic property in Old Mandeville, which includes the legendary North Star Theatre. With a vision to expand the theatre’s community impact, Jill plans for North Star Cultural Arts center to be a home for  artistic endeavors to further promote cultural arts in this community. The theatre will continue its tradition of staging captivating theatrical performances while also serving as a vibrant hub for creativity and cultural engagement.
