310 Lafayette Street.  Maestri House, circa 1910.  There was a time when Mandeville was dotted with farms and orchards on large holdings such as this one covering 2 squares. The Maestri property is Mandeville's last.

This large country villa was built around 1910 as a summer retreat by family patriarch, New Orleans Mayor (1936-1946)and Huey P Long ally, Robert S Maestri. Earlier structures on the site date to the 19th century.
