On August 27, 2013, at approximately 1552 hrs, Mandeville Police received a report of a possible attempted child abduction near the intersection of Cambronne Street and Barbara Place. The information obtained from the investigation is as follows:

At approximately 3:45 pm, an 11 YOA W/F had exited her school bus and was walking home. As she approached her driveway, an older model vehicle pulled abreast of her and stopped. The driver exited the vehicle and approached the child, asking "Do you need a ride home? The child ran towards her house and as she reached the front door, she looked back and saw the driver running after her. The
child was able to rush inside the house before the subject could get close to the residence. The child quickly told her father, who ran outside but the subject had already fled in the vehicle.

The child described the suspect as an Hispanic male, heavy set with dark colored hair cut short and with a mustache and glasses. The subject was wearing a light blue polo style shirt. Witnesses in the area advised a subject matching that description has been seen before driving a late model sedan, possibly a Cadillac, that is rust covered with possibly a faded green paint job.

A search of the area did not locate the vehicle nor the subject. Anyone with information is asked to call the Mandeville Police Department at 985-626-9711.
